Getting pierced is the exciting part—looking after it during healing is just as important.

This guide provides general aftercare information to help you care for your new piercing. Healing experiences vary from person to person, so always follow the advice provided by your piercer.

The Golden Rules

✨ Wash your hands before touching your piercing.

✨ Clean your piercing twice daily with sterile saline solution.

✨ Avoid touching, twisting or rotating your jewellery.

✨ Avoid unnecessary pressure, friction or snagging.

✨ Avoid pools, oceans, spas and baths during the initial healing period.

✨ Change pillowcases regularly and keep the area clean.

✨ Follow your piercer's recommendations regarding jewellery changes and downsizing.

✨ Healing takes time—be patient with the process.

Ear Piercings

Lobe Piercings

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Avoid sleeping directly on the piercing.

  • Do not remove jewellery during healing.

  • Be mindful of pressure from headphones, phones and clothing.

Cartilage Piercings

(Helix, Flat, Conch, Tragus, Daith, Rook, Forward Helix, Industrial)

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Avoid sleeping on the piercing.

  • Be mindful of headphones, earphones and accidental knocks.

  • Keep the area clean and dry after showering.

Nose Piercings

Nostril Piercings

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Avoid makeup, skincare products and excessive touching around the area.

  • Take care when using towels, glasses and clothing.

Septum Piercings

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Avoid touching or moving the jewellery unnecessarily.

  • Follow your piercer's advice regarding positioning during healing.

Face & Oral Piercings

Lip Piercings

  • Clean as advised by your piercer.

  • Avoid makeup and skincare products around the piercing during healing.

  • Be mindful when eating and drinking.

Tongue, Smiley & Other Oral Piercings

  • Maintain good oral hygiene.

  • Use alcohol-free oral care products where appropriate.

  • Follow your piercer's recommendations regarding jewellery downsizing and aftercare.

Eyebrow & Bridge Piercings

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Avoid makeup and skincare products around the area.

  • Take care to avoid knocks from glasses, hats and clothing.

Body Piercings

Navel Piercings

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Avoid tight clothing that may place pressure on the piercing.

  • Keep the area clean and dry.

Nipple Piercings

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Avoid unnecessary friction or pressure during healing.

Surface & Dermal Piercings

  • Clean twice daily with sterile saline.

  • Protect the piercing from knocks, pressure and friction.

  • Follow your piercer's recommendations regarding coverings and jewellery care.
